Unknown Coffee, based in Burleigh Heads, provides coffee equipment sales and servicing for cafes, roasters and restaurants. Founded in 2016 by Ryan Evans, with a mission of helping small businesses succeed with better coffee technology and a reliable team for support.

Our Story
Life before business
Ryan completed his electrical apprenticeship with KONE Elevators and worked in
this industry for roughly 6 years developing electrical and mechanical skills. Also, Ryan worked in the electrical domestic, commercial, industrial and solar industry.
Ground Up Espresso Bar 2012-2014
Ryan’s passion from coffee kept him dreaming of running his own cafe and this became a reality when him and two good mates build their own successful cafe in Toowoomba CBD. Nested in a back alley covered in graffiti they created a space that brought a coffee culture together in a country town. Ange joined the team as their hospitality superstar and later started a relationship with Ryan and joined the coffee journey.
Espresso Mechanics 2014-2016
Ryan was running an electrical contracting business on the side as well as working full time for Espresso Mechanics where he learnt the ins and outs of coffee machines. He saw an opportunity on the Gold Coast for a Coffee Service Company and so Unknown Coffee was born.
Unknown Coffee 2016-2018
Ryan started running the company from their home in Burleigh until they quickly out grew their garage. Taking truck delivers on their suburban street was not working anymore and Ange was sick of seeing machines in the dining room.
Unknown Coffee 2018-2020
Ryan built a full coffee service workshop and showroom in Burleigh Heads sharing with another coffee business for two years until they both out grew that space. Bob joined the team and is still with us to this day today.
Unknown Coffee 2020-2023
Ryan built their second coffee service workshop and showroom in Burleigh Heads in their own space. During the time in this space the company grew to a total of three field technicians and our workshop technician Bob. Ange also joined the business to cover office admin and marketing.
Unknown Coffee 2023-Present
Ryan built their third coffee service workshop and showroom in West Burleigh. Our workshop technician Bob greets all of our customers with a smile and assists with their needs. Ange works from the office upstairs covering all admin, sales & enquiries and makes a delicious coffee in the showroom. Ryan is on the road servicing all our customers in the field. We are on the hunt for our next Coffee Technician, if you would like to join our journey.
Meet The Team
Ryan Evans
Ryan is a licensed electrician with deep experience in the coffee industry. Ryan started Unknown Coffee because he loves helping business owners succeed.
Bob Herman
Bob is an experienced technician who looks after our warehouse repairs. If you drop into our Burleigh location, you’ll find Bob there with a big smile and coffee in-hand.
Angela Evans
Ange joined the team in 2020 to lead the sales and admin team. Ange is a trained barista and knows the industry inside out. She can help you choose the right gear for your business and get the best performance out of your team.

Our Service Locations
Our technicians service as north as Yatala, down the coast to Ballina NSW. For equipment installations, we can travel further.
